Design Sojourn Appointed as a Design Facilitator for the Design Engage Program!
July 2011 was just a crazy month for us here at Design Sojourn. We have been drowning in project work and did not have much of a chance to share some of our more exciting news and events that has or will be happening to us. So I hope you don’t mind that I will be announcing it all in a series of blog posts in the coming days.
One of our big announcements is that from 1 July 2011, Design Sojourn has been appointed as an official Design Facilitator for the Design Engage Program!
Design Engage is an awesome program that encourages small to medium sized businesses to adopt design as a strategic competitive advantage for their business growth either in Singapore or Internationally. The program is owned and organized by 3 government agencies in Singapore, namely The Design Singapore Council (for content), Spring Singapore (facilitation and funding) and IE Singapore (funding).
Design Engage pairs up Design Facilitators (such as yours truly) with interested businesses, in a low risk low cost consulting environment. During this program, we work closely with the business leaders to use design methodology to formulate potential winning strategies for their business. I’ll risk a little confusion by saying this is Design Thinking at its best.
Getting appointed as a Design Facilitator was no easy task. We had to go through a rigorous selection process, where we had to show a proven track record of managing design strategically within a business context that resulted in not only business success, but also sustainable growth. Not only that, we had to demonstrate that our design process was structured enough to allow us to run this strategic design activity in a disciplined manner.
Therefore this appointment is a significant win for Design Sojourn as it is a huge vote of confidence for my fledgling design consulting business and our ability to deliver top notch strategic design solutions.
If you run a business in Singapore and would like to have a chat with me on what Design or The Design Engage program can do for you, please do not hesitate to drop me an email at brian [at] designsojourn.com or hit our contact form.
